Reporting to the head of Middle Office in the UK, the role requires the individual to act as a business partner to Credit Markets as well as maintaining a control based approach. It requires the ability to work across the banks front office, risk, legal, operational and control functions.
Act as a principal point of contact for aggregation of requests to the business and dissemination of information 3rd parties in relation to the portfolio.
Managing a portfolio of performing and watch-list accounts, taking a responsible and supervisory role for the day to day management of debt transactions including: Project & Acquisition Finance, Syndicated Corporate Lending as wells as Asset & Capital Structuring deals.
The candidate must be able to analyse client management accounts, assess project performance against established financial models and set milestones, understand the legal documentation under each account and anticipate deal specific events that are ruled under such agreement, represent the bank during bank meetings and build relationships with company senior management and other syndicate members.
For each loan and for the time the account sits within the Banks balance sheet, the candidate will be responsible for timely preparation and presentation of credit reviews to Risk Management, review waiver and amendment requests and escalate recommendations with supporting credit documentation to senior management.
This role involves active support to the Origination and Global Credit Watch teams in analysing risk attributable to the wider Bank portfolio and lead specific risk based projects where required. In addition to this, it will also requires coordination with the finance and operations departments regarding expected prepayments, disbursements, securities/guarantees, restructurings, provisions, fees, and other documentation changes that affect Bank income to ensure an efficient back-office function and accurate forecasting process. This will also include documentation and security package management.

organise regular team meetings to inform and update staff of relevant matters and to instill a co-operative and positive spirit

What are the essential and desirable knowledge, experience, behaviours and qualifications that a successful candidate must demonstrate?
Substantial experience of working within a Credit/Loan Markets MO (or similar) environment, being able to demonstrate an up to date wide ranging knowledge of the core products and the associated risk and control issues.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of hedging, legal documentation, operations along with associated IT systems.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with strong inter-personal skills, previous experience of managing a small team.
